Debra Kennedy shares how her successful private-sector career with broad responsibilities in finance, marketing and general management brought her to leading a newly-created Executive Education center at Bentley University. Her background helps her to understand business goals her clients have and design programs to meet them. She is very proud to admit that large number of her clients come back for more programs or refer their colleagues to work with her team. This is the biggest compliment to the team members and a testament of their dedication and customer focus.
“I spent most my career in industry, primarily in the energy and utility industries – close to twenty years plus in the corporate finance there, in marketing as well as general management. I was in charge of all their marketing and public relations outreach at one point. A very different role from what I have now.”
“Executive Education really caught my attention because it was something that they were re-platforming, repositioning here. It was very entrepreneurial yet really was something I could take it and run with.”
“it’s fun to work with the faculty. I mean universities are places that are full of ideas, full of great faculty members and students.”
“We have really a robust network of growing companies here. So there’s plenty of work, I think for everyone in the New England area.”
“We serve the business community. So our marketing has to be different.”
“Having been a senior level manager in a company and having had to choose programs like this for my own people I am quite aware of the risk they’re taking when they choose a provider.”
